Survey of Student Resources and Assets The Youth Development Collaborative conducted the Survey of Student Resources and Assets in the Spring of 2006 with a sample of 7th and 9th grade students who attend Memphis City Schools and Shelby County Schools. The Survey of Student Resources and Assets is a tool that was developed by Americas Promise The Alliance for Youth and Search Institute. It was designed to assist communities in their efforts to mobilize residents around positive youth development. Using the survey findings and the language of developmental assets the Youth Development Collaborative will facilitate a three month community wide dialogue around how we can more fully support all our young people and become a become a place where our youth are valued and thrive The outgrowth of the community-wide dialogue will be to develop some next step recommendations to engage all sectors of Memphis and Shelby County around some specific strategies to increase the investment in the future of our youth and indeed become that community that values, understands and helps our youth become successful adults. The results of the Memphis and Shelby County Survey of Student Resources and Assets is available here in PDF format. You can download the full report or the summary. |
